Wolves are native to the Yellowstone area although none are found there now.

The controversy over whether wolves should be reintroduced in Yellowstone National Park is the topic of a lecture scheduled Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the East High School Auditorium.Renee Askins, director of The Wolf Fund in Moose, Wyo., an organization created to promote restoration of wolves to Yellowstone, will present a slide program and talk about the difficulties of saving endangered species. She will also address the criticisms of wolf restoration made by ranchers and Wyoming political leaders.

Askins replaces David Mech of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, who was originally scheduled to speak.

Admission to the lecture, sponsored by the Utah Museum of Natural History, is $2.50.
