Michael Jackson, the androgynous whirling dervish of pop music, is packing away his traveling clothes and parking the tour bus.

The reclusive creator of the moonwalk has said through surrogates that his 16-month international "Bad" tour, set to wind up Friday night with a sold-out show at the Sports Arena, will be his last. The 30-year-old Jackson, celebrated as widely for his eccentricities as for his stunningly original songs, vocals and choreography, intends to keep recording and is considering film roles.

"I'm not saying he's not going to perform live again, but I don't think we'll ever go out on tour like this," said Jackson's manager, Frank Dileo.
