One out of every five female college students will become a victim of sexual assault.

A national teleconference at noon Feb. 2 in the Olpin Union Saltair Room will focus on the problem of "date rape."Seminar presenters include Barry Burkhart, professor of psychology at Auburn University, and Claire Walsh, director of sexual assault recovery service at the University of Florida at Gainesville.

Burkhart has researched the epidemiology of sexual aggression, psychological processes in offenders and victimization and coping processes in victims.

Walsh is founder and adviser to Campus Organized Against Rape, a student volunteer organization aimed at using education to prevent victimization.

The national teleconference, offered in conjunction with the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education and the National University Teleconference Network, will present new information about the prevalence of acquaintance rape.
