Two Los Angeles men pleaded guilty Wednesday to allegations of possession with intent to distribute 35.2 pounds of cocaine prosecutors claimed was worth at least $3 million.

Sixth District Judge Don Tibbs scheduled a March 10 sentencing for Eduardo Fragoso, 25, and Juan Hurtado Meza, 32. They each could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison on their guilty pleas.Fragoso and Meza remained in the Sevier County Jail pending payment of $80,000 bail each.

The defendants were arrested Dec. 14, 1988, near the central Utah town of Elsinore, about 170 miles south of Salt Lake City.

They had contacted the Sevier County sheriff's office seeking help in starting their stalled car. A deputy said he became suspicious when he noticed paint over some screws in the vehicle door and asked to search the car.

The deputy said he found 16 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside a door.
