Davis County health officials are reporting an increase in the number of syphilis cases in the county in the last year and are urging susceptible people to seek treatment.
The county operates a sexually transmitted diseases clinic in the basement of the courthouse in Farmington and is urging possibly infected people to seek treatment and information.Health specialist Todd Thompson said the clinic is held 8:30-11:30 a.m. each Wednesday. Tests detecting the presence of sexually transmitted diseases, including the HIV virus linked to AIDS, are conducted on a sliding fee basis.
"No individual will be denied services and confidentiality is maintained," Thompson said.
