Charges have been dismissed against a Pleasant Grove man in the sexual assault of a Provo woman.
Craig Madsen, deputy Utah County attorney, made the motion to dismiss "for good and sufficient cause," leaving the investigation open. The case was dismissed last week by 4th District Jucge Ray M. Harding.Jonathan H. Lundquist, 28, 369 E. State, had pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated sexual assault, a first-degree felony, and burglary, a second-degree felony. He had been scheduled to be tried by jury Jan. 31
Defense attorney Wayne Watson said his client was a victim of unfortunate circumstances and there was not enough evidence to connect the defendant to the incident.
Lundquist was arrested Aug. 1 by Provo police in connection with a sexual assault in a northeast Provo home. The victim identified Lundquist as the assailant who entered her condominium early May 31.
