Natural gas rates for Mountain Fuel Supply Co.'s Utah customers would remain essentially unchanged under the company's semiannual gas-cost adjustment filed Tuesday with the Utah Public Service Commission.
The filing requests a $203,000 rate reduction effective Feb. 1.That translates to about 9 cents less per year for the average residential customer using 1,150 therms per year.
"Mountain Fuel has filed 10 consecutive rate decreases in Utah, and customers have seen their annual bills reduced more than 10 percent during the last five years," said D.N. Rose, Mountain Fuel president.
The PSC requires Mountain Fuel to submit a gas-cost adjustment report twice each year.
