A 12-year-old Sandy boy is in the custody of juvenile court authorities after a 2-year-old girl he was baby-sitting died from a head injury.

Emergency personnel were called through 911 to a Sandy house at 9:25 p.m. Monday where they found the child unconscious. The child was apparently injured after the baby sitter became frustrated and lost his temper with the child, said Sandy Detective Bob Wright.

The child, Ester Ouzts, was taken to Alta View Hospital, then flown to Primary Children's Medical Center, where she died Tuesday evening.

Medical examiners determined after a Wednesday morning autopsy that the head injury caused the child's death, Wright said.
