A Salt Lake man was in satisfactory condition Tuesday in LDS Hospital after his car and a train collided Saturday.
Police said Jesus Nunez-Majia, 21, suffered a broken leg when the train dragged his vehicle 70 feet down the tracks and over an embankment. The accident occurred at 3:45 p.m. at 778 S. 4108 West, said police Lt. Steve Diamond.Nunez-Majia and three friends were returning from applying for jobs at an industrial complex when the train struck the vehicle, Diamond said.
Investigators were unsure which direction Nunez-Majia was traveling when the Union Pacific train, with 22 empty cars, collided with the victim's car.
The other occupants, whose names were not released, suffered bumps and bruises in the crash.
