Prime Minister Hun Sen of the Vietnamese-installed Cambodian government Wednesday began unprecedented talks with Thai leaders, calling for economic cooperation with Thailand but maintaining a tough stand against the Thai-backed Cambodian resistance.

"I am ready to discuss every problem between Thailand and Cambodia that (Thai) Prime Minister Chatichai Choonhavan raises," Hun Sen told a news conference before his talks with the Thai leader."We are going to open the door wide for bilateral economic cooperation," he said.

The 37-year-old Cambodian leader and his 24-member delegation were the first officials of the Phnom Penh regime to visit Thailand since the regime was installed in power in 1979.
