Wendell J. Ashton, publisher emeritus of the Deseret News, has been named president of the Jazz 100 Club. He replaces former Salt Lake City Mayor Ted Wilson, who served as the club's president the past two years.

The Jazz 100 Club is a group of Utah business leaders who are actively involved in supporting the development of professional basketball in Utah.According to the club's executive director, Jay Francis, Ashton will be in charge of organizing various Jazz-related community events as well as preside at the monthly advisory board and executive meetings.
