Three world premieres of commissioned works are included in the lineup for the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, which opens its 56th season with a June 18 gala hosted by Ann Reinking.

Jimmy Gamonet de Los Heros, Peruvian-born choreographer in residence with the Miami City Ballet, will premiere a new work with Miami dancers July 26-30.Japanese dance company founder Ushio Amagatsu will present his new work Aug. 9-10. New York choreographer Mark Dendy will premiere his work "Ernst" Aug. 12-13.

The season will include modern dance, performance art, classical and contemporary ballet, and ethnic and traditional dance and music.

A "Roots of Creole" festival July 5-9 will celebrate the cultural impact of Africa and Portugal on Cape Verde and Brazil. From a remote mountain village on the Spanish border, the Portuguese dance troupe the Pauliteriros will bring to America their traditional stick dances.

Also new in 1988 is "Splash," a music and performance art festival featuring nearly 30 dance companies and choreographers from Aug. 8-21.

The season will open June 21-25 with the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, followed June 28-July 2 by the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater's Balanchine program.
