A $3.5 million project to widen Redwood Road between North Temple and 10th North streets has begun, said a Utah Department of Transportation spokeswoman.

The contractor, Western Quality Concrete Inc., will widen the road, build curbs, gutters and sidewalks, and pave it with a 10-inch layer of concrete, said spokeswoman Shirley Iverson.During the reconstruction, Iverson said, the speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph and the work will result in considerable traffic delays.
