Gene Simmons, an actor and a member of the rock group Kiss, and Shannon Tweed, an actress and Playmate of the Year in 1982, became parents of a baby boy Sunday, Tweed's publicist said.

Scott Barton said Tweed gave birth to an 8 pound, 11 ounce boy at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. The baby was named Nicholas Adam.

Tweed has appeared on "Falconcrest" and "Days of Our Lives."

Simmons has appeared in such films as "Wanted Dead or Alive," and "Trick or Treat" in addition to being a bass player and singer with Kiss.
