The Utah chapters of NATS (the National Association for Teachers of Singing) will hold their annual workshop on Jan. 28, in Room 303 of Gardner Hall at the University of Utah.
The morning session will be from 9:30 to noon, and the afternoon session, from 1:30 to 3:30. Fees, which may be paid at the door, will be $10 for high school and university students, $15 for NATS members, and $20 for non-members.Guest clinicians will be Ann Bogdanich, director of the Edu-Kinesthetics Center, and NATS member JoAnn Ottley.
"Edu-K. (Educational Kinesthetics or learning through motion) provides a means for whole-brain/body activation, for more complete and stress-free learning; a way to access the excellence within," said JoAnn Ottley. "Everyone in attendance will be able to experience its effects."
The afternoon's activities will expand to include tools for creating mental states of confidence for students, teachers and professional performers.
Officers for 1989 of the Northern Utah NATS chapter are Cohleen Bischoff, president; Linda Lee, vice president; and Dolores Huff, secretary-treasurer. David Power is state governor.
