Good news, movie fans. TNT movie programmer Lisa Mateas says the cable network is negotiating with Irving Berlin for the rights to air his long-withheld "Annie Get Your Gun."

TNT already has bought the distribution rights to "Annie Get Your Gun" from MGM. But Berlin holds the music rights, and the movie isn't much good without his songs.Berlin hasn't allowed "Annie Get Your Gun" or his "Call Me Madam" to be shown for years, but Ms. Mateas is hoping TNT will be able to convince him to let go.

If we do see it on TNT, odds are it will look great. TNT's movie prints are almost all made from the original negatives, and their quality is almost stunning.

Rewatching MGM's color musical "Yolanda and the Thief" on TNT was like seeing the film for the first time.
