The University of Utah men's and women's swimming teams downed their counterparts from the University of Washington in a combined dual meet held Friday night at the Ute Natatorium. The men beat the Huskies 137-85 while the Ute women's team won 136-85.

The Ute men won 11 of 13 events. Anders Bladh won the 50 yard freestyle and was a member of both Ute winning relay teams. Richard Johansson won the 200 yard freestyle as well as the 500 yard freestyle. The Ute men kept their season dual meet record perfect. They are now 7-0 on the season and face Air Force in a dual meet Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Ute Natatorium. It was the first loss of the year for the Husky men.The Ute women captured nine events. Kathy Doman won the 50 yard freestyle and was also a member of the Utes' winning 400 yard freestyle relay. Kathy Pierce won the 100 yard freestyle while Eva Hjelm won the 200 and 500 yard freestyles. The Ute women are 3-2 on the season.
