A Park City woman and a Taylorsville man were killed in separate vehicle accidents Friday and Saturday.
Killed:Teresa Sue Ryan, 25.
Tom Gerrard, 42.
Ryan was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Larry Kim Hollings, 33, Park City. Hollings was driving west on I-80 at 6:45 a.m. Friday near the Ranch exit in Parleys Canyon.
A Utah Highway Patrol dispatcher said the truck hit a slick spot, spun around and slid into a snow bank. Ryan was ejected from the truck and the truck ran over her. She was flown to University Hospital, where she was dead on arrival.
Hollings, who was not injured, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of automobile homicide and for an outstanding warrant for reckless driving.
Murray police said Gerrard was killed about 2:30 a.m. Saturday when the car he was driving was struck by another car whose driver left the scene. Sgt. Gary Reid said Gerrard was westbound through the intersection of 48th South and State Street when he was hit by the northbound car.
Gerrard was ejected from the vehicle and was dragged about 120 feet, he said. Murray police said they have located a car believed to be the other vehicle, but no arrests have been made. The accident is still under investigation.
Police are seeking the eyewitness who reported the accident but then left to follow the car that struck Gerrard, said detective Scott Hansen. The witness was described as a white male adult, about 6 foot 3 inches tall and driving a silver compact car.
