Removal of excess tissue, fat and skin to reduce and recontour disproportionately large, sagging breasts. Surgery done under general anesthesia in a hospital. Allows for more comfortable physical activity.
-Candidates: Women who have weight-bearing pain in breasts, shoulders, neck and back.
-The downside: Incision will leave permanent, noticeable scars.
-Possible complications: Temporary swelling, discoloration and temporary loss of sensation in nipples is common.
