Removal of excess skin and fat concentrated in the abdomens and tightening the muscles to give support and flatten the lower abdomen. Commonly done in the hospital, under general anesthesia.
-Candidates: Men and women who otherwise are of normal weight; not a procedure for weight reduction. -The downside: Permanent resultant scars across the pubic area and navel. -Possible complications: Blood clots in the leg, which can be life- threatening.
