A West Jordan, Utah, CPA convicted on federal fraud and obstruction of justice charges faces a March 3 sentencing in Wyoming federal court, officials said Thursday.
Don H. Perry, 46, was found guilty of preparing false tax returns, obstruction of justice and selling fraudulent common-law trusts. He could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and fined $10,000.Perry was among three men convicted Jan. 11 on the three charges. The other defendants are lawyer William Pilgrim, Dallas, and Arthur P. Tranakos, Atlanta, a former Internal Revenue Service attorney.
The sentencing hearing is before Utah senior federal Judge Aldon Anderson, who is handling the Wyoming case as a visiting federal judge.
