David F. Bolender, president of Pacific Power & Light Co., Portland, Ore., and Richard C. Edgley, managing director of finance and rec-ords for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, have been elected to Utah Power & Light Co.'s board of directors.
Bolender has been president of Pacific Power, UP&L's new sister utility under PacificCorp, since 1982. A 1954 graduate of Colorado School of Mines, Bolender received a degree in petroleum engineering. He worked in nuclear engineering and reactor operations for General Electric Co. at Hanford, Wash.Before coming to Pacific in 1975, he spent 12 years with Westinghouse Electric. He and his wife, Rose Marie, live in Lake Oswego, a suburb of Portland, and are the parents of four grown sons.
Edgley has been a member of the PacifiCorp board since October, 1987. Before taking his post with the church in 1980, he was vice president of administration and control for consumer non-foods operations at General Mills Corp., Minneapolis, Minn.
He is vice chairman of Proprietary Holding Inc. (UI Group) and serves on the boards of Deseret Trust Co. of Utah, Deseret Trust Company of California and Deseret Mutual Benefit Association. He also serves on Zions First National Bank's trust policy committee.
A native of Preston, Idaho, Edgley graduated from Brigham Young University and earned an MBA from Indiana University. He and his wife, Pauline, and their six children live in Centerville.
