Salt Lake City Mayor Palmer DePaulis was expected to leave Tuesday to join 170 other U.S. mayors for the U.S. Conference of Mayors 1989 winter meeting in Washington, D.C.

DePaulis will participate in several task forces and committees during the four-day event and then attend the presidential inauguration of Vice President George Bush with Rep. Wayne Owens, D-Utah, according to his schedule.DePaulis will focus on many issues affecting municipalities, "but (the mayor) still feels . . . that the homeless issue is one of the big concerns cities have," said Lynn Zimmerman, DePaulis' press aide.
