Two literature experts will discuss cultural values revealed in horror films and Banana Republic catalogs Jan. 20 in a University of Utah Humanities Center lecture.

The lecture, one of a five-part monthly series, is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Alumni House from 2 to 5 p.m.Carol J. Clover, professor of languages and comparative literature at the University of California at Berkeley, will discuss her recent work with horror films and gender roles.

R. Stephen Tatum, professor and associate chairman of the Department of English at the U., will discuss how advertising copy and visual art in Banana Republic catalogs reveal cultural values.
