The director of the clinical psychology program at Brigham Young University will address students Jan. 19 as part of the Psychology Forum series.

Robert J. Howell will discuss "Dramatic Cases of Deviance and Defiance: Evaluating Criminal and Pathological Behavior" in Room 214 of the Crabtree Technology Building at 3 p.m..Howell is the former president of the American Academy of Forensic Psychology and the past president of the Utah Psychological Association. He also has served as a member of the Governor's Task Force on Corrections Policies.

Howell is the author of several works, including; "A Case Study of a Psychopath: Gary Gilmore," "The Temporary Insanity Defense," and "Privileged Communication Laws for the Fifty States: Duty to Report and Duty to Warn."
