The Utah Valley Choral Society has cancelled its performance of John Rutter's "Requiem," scheduled for Wednesday evening in the Provo Tabernacle.

Director Lois J. Johnson said there was a conflict with inaugural ceremonies in Washington, D.C., where she will be traveling Wednesday as a member of the Tabernacle Choir for a concert that evening.Efforts to postpone the Rutter program until later this spring failed because of scheduling conflicts with the Utah Valley Youth Symphony's Philharmonia, which performed under Rutter's baton in Carnegie Hall last April and would be performing with the choral society.

The Rutter program will be rescheduled in the 1989-90 season, Johnson said.
