The cover photo of a new brochure extolling the advantages of skiing in Utah was staged so it appears skiers step directly from an airplane onto a lift that will take them up the mountain.

Rick Davis, president of the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau, said he arranged for a local company producing chairs for ski lifts to take one to the Salt Lake International Airport where it was suspended from a crane near the open door of an airliner. With the snow-covered Wasatch Mountains in the background, the picture has some skiers deplaning, three skiers on the chair lift and the words ". . . it seems as though you're stepping off the plane onto the lift."

Davis said the bureau printed 30,000 of the brochures and is distributing them to ski clubs, ski associations, ski magazines, travel agencies and hotels, many in various parts of the United States.
