The Rev. Jesse Jackson, civil rights leader and Democratic presidential challenger, is scheduled to speak Feb. 16 at Weber State College as part of Black History Month.
Forrest Crawford of the WSC office of career services said Jackson's visit to northern Utah is sponsored by the Associated Students and Black Scholars United.Crawford said that while Jackson's Ogden agenda is not firm, college officials hope he will be on campus most of the day and available for meetings with local black ministers and a luncheon.
The National Rainbow Coalition office in Chicago confirmed Tuesday that Jackson will visit Weber.
Jackson's most recent visit to Utah was in June during the presidential campaign, when he addressed the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Salt Lake City.
