Finnish freshman Kristian Johansson led BYU's men's swimming team to three of its six first-place finishes to defeat New Mexico Saturday, 127-114.

Johansson won the 200 individual medley at 1:56.15, the 200 butterfly at 1:51.39 and swam the third leg on the 400 medley relay to improve the Cougars' dual record to 3-1. Backstroker Rob Doman slipped off the block to lead the 400 medley relay with a two second delay, but Ng Yue Meng, Johansson and Danny May made up the difference to clock a 3:30.97.
