A fund has been established to help the family of Brent Jacobson, the first U.S. Forest Service law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty.

Jacobson, 41, was gunned down Jan. 12 during a manhunt in northern Idaho. Two suspects are in custody on charges of first-degree murder, robbery and kidnapping.Jacobson is a native of Provo. He is survived by his wife and two stepchildren.

The fund to help the family was established at Idaho First National Bank, P.O. Box 370, Sandpoint, Idaho, 83864.

Separately, the family requested that any memorials be sent to the Idaho Fish and Game Department, 2320 Government Way, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, 83814.

Law enforcement agencies from across the Pacific Northwest will be represented Tuesday at Jacobson's funeral and burial in Sandpoint, which will include an honor guard.
