A survey of heads of households in the Salt Lake area shows that LDS Hospital is the most preferred, with 25 percent of respondents naming it specifically as their hospital of choice.

The hospital mentioned second most was University Hospital, with 19 percent.The survey was conducted by Dan Jones and Associates for LDS Hospital. Pollsters interviewed 803 heads of households chosen at random in Salt Lake County, Bountiful and Woods Cross. There is a margin of error of 3.5 percent.

Similar surveys conducted in 1984 and 1986 showed that LDS Hospital has remained fairly constant in its percentage of preference, 22 percent in 1984 and 27 percent in 1986. The survey showed the most common reasons for choosing LDS Hospital was good past experience, medical staff quality and quality of care.
