A Sandy man charged with abandoning his 7-year-old son in Boise last week waived his right Friday to extradition, agreeing to be released to Idaho authorities for prosecution.

Edward Tuinman, 29, and his wife, Deborah, 28, face charges in Ada County, Idaho, of felony abandonment of a child. Mrs. Tuinman waived her right to extradition Thursday.To clear the way for releasing the Tuinmans to Idaho, Salt Lake County prosecutors dismissed felony theft misdemeanor traffic charges against the couple.

Police arrested the Tuinmans Saturday night near Nephi after a 5-year-old Salt Lake boy helped investigators identify the 7-year-old boy who was found abandoned Jan. 4 at a rest stop near Boise.
