A University of Oklahoma football player is in custody and a teammate is hospitalized after an early morning shooting in the athletic dormitory, a university spokeswoman says.
Spokeswoman Catherine Bishop said lineman Zarak Peters was wounded in the early morning shooting at the athletic dormitory. She said defensive back Jerry Parks was in custody.Early reports were that Peters' wound may have been to his chest.
Parks was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon, Ms. Bishop said. He is scheduled to appear before a judge today, a jail spokeswoman said.
