Kitty Dukakis is starting a series of speaking engagements, but she doesn't want everyone to know. The wife of 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis was to speak Wednesday, but her staff wouldn't reveal to whom, what she was speaking about or even where she was speaking.

Media reports, however, said she was getting $15,000 to talk to a group of admirers in a private home in Los Angeles.

"We are not hiding anything. It's just a private matter," said Dukakis' Washington attorney. "We tend to forget that people do have privacy. You shouldn't be shocked or amazed."
