PacifiCorp, a diversified utility based in Portland, Ore., which recently acquired Utah Power & Light Co., has elected Frank N. Davis to be president and chief executive officer of the new Utah Power division.
Also, PacifiCorp has named three UP&L board members to serve as directors of PacifiCorp.Davis, 64, who has been president of UP&L since 1987 and has been with the Utah utility for 40 years, also becomes a member of PacifiCorp's policy group.
David F. Bolender will continue as president of PacifiCorp's other electric utility division, Pacific Power. PacifiCorp began merging Utah Power with Pacific Power this week.
Elected to PacifiCorp's board are Utah Power directors Michael O. Leavitt, president and chief executive of The Leavitt Group insurance companies; Don M. Wheeler, president and general manager of Wheeler Machinery; and John A. Lindquist, chairman of Lindquist & Sons funeral directors in Ogden and chairman of UP&L.
The election brings PacifiCorp's board to 19 members. Two directors, F. Paul Carlson and C. Todd Conover, have resigned, a PacifiCorp spokesman said.
