Richard Glen Taylor, a consulting actuary at Walker and Associates, Midvale, has been selected for membership in the American Academy of Actuaries, a professional organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C.

To be selected for membership in the academy, a candidate must meet education and experience requirements. The education requirement can be satisfied either by passing certain professional examinations, by becoming an enrolled actuary or an actuary certified by the federal government to work on private pension plans.The experience requirement consists of three years of responsible actuarial work, which involves the evaluation of probabilities and financial impact that uncertain future events such as birth, marriage, sickness, accidents and death have on insurance and benefit plans.
