A man charged in the shooting death of his former roommate over an alleged drug debt, faces a March 15 trial.

Terry Wayne Perdue, 26, pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder before 3rd District Judge Frank Noel. Perdue is charged with the Oct. 19 death of Jerry Kadell Hermansen, who was shot in the fields west of Salt Lake City. The victim's body was found by a city garbage truck driver near 50th W. 13th South.At the a preliminary hearing, police testified that Perdue said he and Hermansen were discussing a cocaine debt Hermansen owed when a fight erupted.
