A Soviet airliner flying in a spring blizzard crashed into a mountain in Siberia and broke apart, killing 15 passengers and two members of the crew, the Communist Party daily Pravda reported Wednesday.

It did not say whether there were any survivors. Officials are investigating the causes of the accident, Pravda said.

The L-410 twin-turboprop aircraft was flying from the settlement of Muya to the regional center of Bagdarin, 3,000 miles southeast of Moscow, when the crash occurred Tuesday, Pravda said.
