Don Sterner weighs a California condor egg at the San Diego Wild Amimal Park. The egg is the first ever produced by California condors after mating in captivity. Officials on a round-the-clock virgil expect the egg to hatch Saturday. The egg was produced March 3 by a pair of condors. The two are among the only 27 surviving condors, all of which have been in captivity since the last condor was taken out of the wild April 19, 1987.
