Lucky Stores Inc., the California-based grocery chain that is currently a takeover target by American Stores, said Tuesday it has received proposals from third parties regarding the possible acquisition of the company.

Lucky said the proposals were received in connection with the company's "exploration of alternatives" to Salt Lake-based American Stores' unsolicited $45 per share tender offer and $50 proposal to acquire the company.Without naming the proposals or which companies are making them, Lucky said it is reviewing them "along with other means of providing greater value to stockholders than the American Stores offer."
