BYU forward Andy Toolson is scheduled to be examined today by doctors in Provo, and a decision will be made on the status of his broken left thumb.
Toolson, who missed Saturday's UTEP-BYU game, said if they decide to operate on the thumb, they will do so immediately. Coaches are hopeful he could be able to play within four weeks. Toolson, a junior, also said he wants to check into the possibility of being able to miss the first part of next season and return early in WAC play - again as a junior."If not, I want to have them rig something up for me and be back playing somehow in a couple of weeks," said Toolson. "I don't want to be spending my junior year sitting on the bench."
