A minor earthquake shook the Las Vegas Valley Sunday night, and hundreds of citizens called emergency services with reports of swaying buildings and heavy earth motion.

A spokesman at the Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo., said the quake was centered 10 miles northeast of dowtown Las Vegas and measured 3.5 on the Richter scale. It was recorded at 8:08 p.m. MST.Police reported no property damage.

The underground Nellis Air Force Base Command post said the quake was felt at the giant military base.

Fire and police departments in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson said switchboards handled hundreds of telephone calls. But the Boulder City Police Department said the earth motion was not felt in that community.
