An Illinois man arrested in west-central Utah with 60 pounds of marijuana in his car has been ordered to stand trial on charges of drug possession with intent to distribute.
David L. Barrett, 27, Peoria, appeared before Justice of the Peace Lane Harward for a preliminary hearing on the drug charge. Harward ordered Barrett bound over to 4th District Court for trial.Barrett remains free on $10,000 bond.
He was stopped Oct. 28 for speeding on I-15. A Utah Highway Patrol trooper said he found the marijuana, worth about $100,000, after a car search.
