The Salt Lake City Council will consider a resolution supporting the Downtown Master Plan, a development plan for the city's central business district, at its Tuesday night meeting.
The plan is divided into two phases, the first setting development goals for the city, the second, yet to be drafted, establishing a set of concrete plans to reach those goals.Planning officials call the first phase of the plan intentionally vague so that it will lay out a general direction for development in the downtown area.
"It is in the best interest of the city to endorse and adopt such (a) plan . . . to promote orderly long-range development within the downtown area," the resolution reads.
The meeting gets under way at City Hall, 324 S. State St, in third floor City Council Chambers at 6 p.m.
