-As previously known, the application shows that the Air Force would like to use 75 or so parcels of BLM land probably in Tule, Snake or Whirlwind valleys.

-Each parcel would house structures with electromagnetic equipment, which would beam waves toward aircraft to test weapons and communications systems.

-Officials say the West Desert is one of the few areas remote and large enough that such testing would not interfere with civilian TV and radio signals.

-New information is that the central work and maintenance area would be at Sand Pass, 13 miles south of Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge.
