The attorney for former British track star David Jenkins says he plans to ask a federal judge to reduce his client's seven-year prison term for steriod smuggling.

"We hope it will be granted," attorney Robert Grimes said Wednesday. "We'll be pointing out some of the favorable things about David."Jenkins, who anchored Great Britain's 400-meter relay team to a silver medal in the 1972 Olympics, pleaded guilty to receiving anabolic steroids subject to seizure, possessing counterfeit steroids for sale, introducing them into interstate commerce and defrauding the U.S. government of tax money.
