A gas station and convenience store at Second West and Fifth South was held up at gunpoint Wednesday night in the second such incident in a week.
Bountiful Police Lt. Don Taylor said the robbery is similar to one that occurred Monday night at a nearby gas station. Monday night's robbery is the second time in two weeks that the station was hit, Taylor said, leading him to believe the three incidents could be the work of the same person or pair of individuals."We don't usually have but three or four armed robberies in a year in Bountiful and now we've had three in two weeks," the detective said.
In Wednesday's incident about 7:45 p.m., a man wearing a knit hat pulled down low and a blue bandana up to his eyes pulled a gun on the store clerk, ordering her to empty the cash register and then lie on the floor. The clerk complied, Taylor said, and the man fled. The clerk was not injured.
Taylor said the robber's method and language in Wednesday's incident is similar to the robbery Monday night.
The man is described as white, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with light brown or blond hair and a medium build.
