A Salt Lake woman took top honors in a national scientific paper competition sponsored by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Taunia Sandquist Wilde, a University of Utah and Highland High School graduate, took first place for her paper on "Used Oil: Waste Processes."

The paper by the June 1988 chemical engineering graduate offered recommendations for the safe disposal of used oils. Wilde will begin a job with Kerr-McGee Corp. in January in Oklahoma.
