A Granite School District teacher was arrested Sunday night after deputy sheriffs found him watching a sexually graphic video in his classroom.

The 43-year-old elementary school teacher was cited for unlawful acts in or about a school and was released, according to a sheriff's report.Deputy sheriffs and Granite School District security officers surrounded a portable building at the school grounds after a door alarm went off at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers and a K-9 dog entered the building and found the teacher seated on a chair in front of a television and VCR, the report said.

Two tapes containing "graphic sexual material" were confiscated, according to the sheriff's office. The tapes had been rented from a local video shop. The teacher told officers he did not want to view the tapes at his home and had gone to the school to view the tapes, the report said.
