Donald Gallegos has won two Utah Winter Games gold medals in speed-skating events on the Ogden Waterski Pond.

The Boulder, Colo., skater was first in the men's 18-39 age group in the 500- and 1,000-meter events Monday.John Koogle of Utah was second in both races. Tom Green was third in the 500-meter race and Brian Rhee was third in the 1,000 meter.

About two dozen people competed in the speed skating, about twice as many as last year.

Other men's gold medalists were Ryan Froerer, boys 6-7, 100 meters; Chad Fain, 8-9, 500 meters; Ryan Prevedel, 10-11, 500 meters; Brian Fain, 14-15, 500 meters; and Jay Glad, 40 and over, 500 meters.

Women's winners were Ashley Jones, 5 and younger; Neone Jones, 10-11, 500 meters; Jennifer Jones, 16-17, 1,000 meters; Andrea Jones, 18-39, 500 meters; and Bette Jean Wilson, 40-older, 500 meters.

Sean Smith, David Berry and Mick Berry won the Junior 1-, Junior 2- and Junior 4-class ski ballet events at Nordic Valley.

John Robbins won the senior men's aerials at Power Mountain. Jeff Skillern won the Junior 1, David Berry the Junior 2 and Mick Berry the Junior 3.
